THE LOST CITY
Multiplayer Live Game
This live game is designed for a group of around 40 people playing in a large room. Each player will have an initial player status card to represent their status. This game requires executors to lead the game process.
The design process is my individual work.
Five rounds: 1st round 12 min, 2nd round 11min, 3rd round 10 min, 4th round 9min, final round 8 min.
There will be a checkpoint between each round.
Total: 1 hour – 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Number of Players:
More than 20 people, less than 50 people.
Number of NPCs:
1 Primary Executor: Guardian of the City, responsible for the whole process, introducing the background story of the game, game rules, and hosting the game.
4 Stage Executer: Elves of the Magic Forest, responsible for four different stages, giving away food and water.
1 Extra Executer: Machinist of the City, joining the game at round 3, providing an additional stage that allows players to upgrade their working efficiency.
1 Police: Punishing player who breaks the rules.
How to play:
Every player will have three health points if health points reduced to 0, then he or she will not be able to continue playing.
Each player has to obtain one food and one water at the end of each round, if players don't meet this requirement, then one health point will be reduced.
There is no way to add back health points, so the only way to survive is keeping health points more than 0.
Method of gathering food or water: There are four stages in the playing area, 2 of them generate food, and others generate water. Each stage provides a unique mini-game that allows players to play, and players will get rewards of food or water after they succeed in the stage. Players have to line up in front of each stage, and cutting the line is not permitted in the whole process.
Players are born as citizens in the functionless city, outside the city, there is a magic forest. Players can only gather food and water in each round, and they are not able to get any food or water when time runs out.
1st round (12 min):
This round is more like a tutorial. It allows players to get familiar with each stage, with game rules. When the time is up, each player has to check with an NPC to see whether he or she has one food and one water. Otherwise, one health point will be reduced.
2nd round (11 min):
A new feature is added, the Guardian of the City will announce that demons are attacking our city. The only way to protect every citizen is donating a certain amount of food or water to the Guardian, if the donation amount doesn't meet the requirement, then each player will lose one health point in this round. So if a player doesn't have the necessary food and water to survive, and the donation amount is not enough, he or she will lose two health points in this round.
3rd round (10 min):
A new feature is added, the Guardian of the City will announce that there is a research and technology center in the city, citizens can go there doing research to upgrade their gathering efficiency, which means that the reward from each stage will increase after the research is done. But citizens who join the research team in this round will not be able to gather food or water, so these citizens have to get food and water from other players. If each research team member doesn't have the necessary food and water to survive, he or she will lose two health points in this round. Each player only can join the research team once in the whole game.
4th round and 5th round (9 min and 8 min):
In these two rounds, the game becomes harder and harder. Players have to discuss and come up with the most efficient way that allows them to survive. The best way to succeed in this game is to corporate and help each other.
